Samantha Clark was born and raised on the Upper East Side, where she still lives. She began her teaching career in 2010 and spent the next five years at the West Side Y before deciding to stay home with her sons for a few years. She absolutely loves the nursery school age and is passionate about accompanying children on their journey in learning and witnessing any and all accomplishments and “aha!” moments they reach in their exploration. Her goal in the classroom is to create a safe community where a love of curiosity is fostered, creating lifelong learners. Samantha also sits on the board of a nonprofit organization called Ama’s ARC, whose mission is “to help educate and empower youth through social action projects which benefit rural schools in Ghana.” Service learning and bringing social awareness—and having children know we are all part of a larger community and that we have a connection to the people around the world—are passions of hers. Outside of work, you can find Samantha spending time with her husband and their three sons, discovering all that our beautiful city has to offer!
