Lisa Levenson, associate teacher, joined the nursery school in 2016 after working in JCC Manhattan’s day camp every summer since 2009. Lisa graduated from Barnard College with a BA in psychology, where she also served as a principal investigator in the psychology of personality research lab, a student researcher in the developmental psychology lab, a research assistant in the social psychology lab, and a teaching assistant in two courses on social psychology. Lisa brings to the classroom her background a deep knowledge of child development and a passion for investigating topics such as morality in young children, gendered toy use, and socialization. In addition to her research at Barnard, Lisa served as an assistant teacher at the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development last year. Lisa has also worked at JCC Manhattan’s afterschool programs and Camp Kulam for children with special needs.
