Isabel received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and her master’s in social work from NYU. She then attended the post master’s program in clinical social work at Hunter College School of Social Work, and received a certificate in advanced training in child psychotherapy from the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services. Isabel has used the skills gained in these programs during her employment with several Jewish institutions in New York City, including Central Synagogue, Park Avenue Synagogue, 92nd Street YMHA, 14th Street YMHA, Stephen Wise Free Synagogue, and, most recently, Temple Shaaray Tefila, Brotherhood Synagogue, and Jewish Community Project. She has also worked as a private psychotherapist and a psychiatric social worker at an in-patient psychiatric unit specializing in eating disorders.
