Hayley Richard is a co-head teacher at the nursery school, where she has been teaching since 2014. Prior to joining the staff, Hayley served in several roles at the JCC, including teaching in the 2s Together and Havurah programs, in addition to Camp Kulam and My Art Studio.
Hayley grew up in Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University, where she earned a B.A. in mass communication and minored in both graphic design and photography. Her passion for art and social justice drew her into teaching, as she later earned her certification in art education and special education at the University of New Orleans. She taught in the Greater New Orleans area for four years, and has also worked within the classroom and educational programs abroad in Australia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Hayley holds a M.Ed. from the University of Sydney and a dual master’s degree in infant and family development/early intervention and in early childhood general and special education from Bank Street College. Hayley’s experience and expertise give her insight and perspective on the construction of a rich and inclusive classroom community.
